Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell has undergone a second surgery to repair the torn ACL in his left knee, according to multiple reports. Dell suffered the injury in December during a game against the Kansas City Chiefs and had previously undergone surgery to repair his lateral collateral ligament (LCL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL).
Dell's recovery process remains a long one, and his availability for the 2025 season is uncertain. Given the severity of the injury and the multiple surgeries required, there is speculation that he could miss the entire season as he works his way back.
The Texans' receiving corps could see significant changes this offseason, with veteran wideouts Stefon Diggs and Robert Woods both potentially departing in free agency. Dell’s uncertain timeline may push the team to explore options at the position through the draft or free agency as they look to build around quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Dell, who had a promising rookie campaign cut short by a broken fibula before suffering the knee injury, has remained engaged with the team throughout his rehab process. He was seen attending Houston Rockets games and supporting the Texans during their playoff run.
The Texans remain optimistic about Dell’s long-term recovery, but it will likely be months before any clarity emerges on his potential return to the field.
