In a thrilling Thursday night showdown at MetLife Stadium, Garrett Wilson added his name to the list of all-time great catches, challenging even Odell Beckham Jr.'s legendary grab. With the Jets trailing late, Wilson hauled in a stunning one-handed 26-yard touchdown that electrified the crowd and gave New York a 14-10 lead in the fourth quarter, snapping their five-game losing streak with a 21-13 victory over the Houston Texans.

Aaron Rodgers, who threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns, marveled at Wilson's catch. “I just lobbed one up, and he made an incredible play,” Rodgers said. “That changed the game.” The catch was initially ruled incomplete until interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich successfully challenged, proving Wilson's shin hit the turf inbounds.

Rodgers connected twice for one-handed touchdowns with Wilson, the second coming after an earlier score tied the game at 7-7. His 37-yard strike to Davante Adams, acquired recently from Las Vegas, put the Jets ahead 21-10 in the closing minutes. Adams, who passed concussion protocol during the game, notched his first touchdown as a Jet.

Despite their early lead, the Texans (6-3) couldn't sustain momentum. C.J. Stroud, who threw for 191 yards but completed only 11 of 30 attempts, lamented the missed opportunities. “It’s embarrassing to come out here and not perform in prime time,” Stroud said. Ka'imi Fairbairn's night was riddled with misfortune, including two missed field goals. His 43-yard attempt in the fourth quarter was nullified by an unnecessary roughness penalty, forcing a retry that hit the left upright and failed.

The Texans showed promise early, with Joe Mixon capping a 98-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown run for a 7-0 lead. But mistakes haunted them throughout, including rookie Malachi Corley’s costly celebration fumble that resulted in a touchback, erasing what would have been his first career score.

Rodgers, who struggled early with just 32 passing yards in the first half—his career low for 10 or more attempts in any half—found his rhythm after halftime. The Jets capitalized on Wilson's heroics and a resilient defensive effort to hold off Houston.

Next, the Texans look to regroup as they prepare to host Detroit on Sunday Night Football, while the Jets hit the road to face Arizona on Nov. 10.
